Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX officially releases for Xbox and PC today

Today is a good day for the revival of retro classics. Alex Kidd in Miracle World is a critically-acclaimed 2D platformer that was initially launched on the SEGA Master System console in 1986, and was loved for its forward-thinking gameplay that still held up many years later. Now, that’s being put to the test with the official release of Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX, which remasters the original game and adds a ton of all-new content and enhancements.

We’ve know about the existence of this project for a while, but Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX is now available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, PS5, PS4, and Switch.

You can check out the release trailer below.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX includes all of the content from the original, remastered with beautiful new visuals (and a switch to return to the original style!). This is more than a simple remaster, though, as extra levels and new content is also being included. Combat, movement, and menus have all been improved, new modes such as Boss Rush have been added, and new music has been added alongside remastered tracks.
