Macy’s is moving the majority of its headquarters to Long Island City as part of a corporate restructuring that will include national store closures and the shuttering of the company’s Cincinnati headquarters.
Apple toured Hudson Yards—where Facebook recently signed a huge lease—but “fell in love with 11 Penn,” an unnamed source told the Post.
Apple has long been rumored to be looking to expand its city offices, following the lead of competitors Amazon, Google and Facebook. Executives at Apple were reported earlier this year to be in talks with Vornado Realty Trust for a lease at its James A. Farley Post Office Building, but Facebook appears to be the more likely suitor.
The company also toured offices last year at Essex Crossing, the mixed-use development on the Lower East Side, Bloomberg reported.
