ASUS ROG Phone II Ultimate now up for pre-order in the US

The ASUS ROG Phone II Ultimate is a beefed up version of its typical ROG Phone II, which, yeah, can be kind of confusing. The two aren’t drastically different, but think of the Ultimate version as one of the higher storage upgrades you can get with other phones. There’s more internal storage to use, more RAM, and in this case, a Snapdragon 855+ CPU.

There are three models that ASUS offers, with the Strix being the entry level packing 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The middle-tier is the Elite with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and the Ultimate keeps the same RAM but jumps up to 1TB of UFS 3.0 storage. It also supports up to 2Gbps download speeds, which is almost double the other two. That’s where most of the price jumps come from.

And yeah, it’s pricey. ASUS asks $1099 for this model, and it’s now available for pre-order in the US from B&H Photo. That’s still a ton of phone for that price, but it’s easily one of the most expensive phons on the market outside of the folding form factors.

So if you’re interested, pre-order away. If you think you can live with just 512GB (or even 128GB!) of storage, you can save some money, though. Keep that in mind.
