Battlefield 2042 is now official, with EA making big promises about its massive and dynamic maps and insane 128 player multiplayer. If you caught the Battlefield 2042 announcement and reveal trailer, you may have noticed that EA announced the Battlefield 2042 gameplay reveal is happening on June 13, 2021. Normally, most players probably wouldn’t think much of this announcement. However, June 13 is not only a Sunday, which is uncommon for news and announcements, it’s also the day of the highly-anticipated and considerably-hyped Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase at E3 2021.

Nothing has been officially confirmed by EA or Xbox, but it looks like there’s a good chance that Battlefield 2042 will debut its chaotic 128 player multiplayer gameplay at the Xbox event during E3 2021. I’m already excited to tune in to the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase to witness 90 minutes of games and reveals, so the possible inclusion of Battlefield 2042 makes everything even sweeter.

Fortunately, we don’t have long to wait before we know for sure, as June 13 is only a few days away. If you want to be sure you don’t miss the Battlefield 2042 gameplay reveal, you might want to watch the Xbox E3 2021 event just to be safe.

In case you missed it, Battlefield 2042 is official and heading to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, PS5, and PS4 on October 22, 2021. Pre-orders are already live for Battlefield 2042, with multiple editions to choose from. Current-gen players will have to shell out a little bit more for this multiplayer mayhem, as only Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC support 128 player matches on the full-size maps. If you pre-order Battlefield 2042, you’ll also gain access to the Battlefield 2042 beta.

If Battlefield 2042 delivers on its ambitious promises and hectic action, it could end up being one of the best Xbox shooters around. Hopefully, we’ll only have to wait until the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase at E3 2021 to find out.
