Business cleans up to help cops – News – The Chronicle Express

CORNING – A local company, ServiceMaster of the Tri-Counties, is offering help during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing a free service that Corning Police Lt. Richard Swan called “absolutely wonderful.”

ServiceMaster recently disinfected all the vehicles operated by the city police department, and has offered to do the same for other first responders in Steuben, Chemung and Schuyler counties, said Chad Ewell, development manager at ServiceMaster in Horseheads.

“We are just offering this to all first responders in the area — free disinfection of their fleet vehicles,” Ewell said. “This is just a token of our appreciation to them for being on the front line during this epidemic.”

ServiceMaster recently provided free disinfection to the Bath Village Police Department and other local agencies.

“We have talked to the sheriff’s departments in Steuben, Chemung and Schuyler counties and several other local first-responder agencies,” Ewell said. “We have several others scheduled and hope to squeeze them in before the area businesses start reopening and our business starts to ramp up.”

Swan said for a company to come out and offer a service like this during these difficult times is inspiring.

“It just shows what a local company is capable of doing to step up and offer their services for us and other first responders,” Swan said. “It’s just amazing.”
