What are the major announcements from EA Play Live?

EA Play Live was a smaller event in the grand scheme of things, but it still had a couple of surprises for players. If you’re only here for the biggest reveals and announcements, we’ve got you covered. Here are all the major announcements from EA Play Live 2021.

    GRID Legends

The GRID series is one of the most infamous racing franchises, and its returning in a big way with GRID Legends. Codemasters is working with EA to deliver the biggest GRID experience yet, with more cars, events, a full campaign, and much more. Does GRID Legends have what it takes to become one of the best Xbox racing games? We don’t know everything about GRID Legends, including what platforms the game is heading to, or even a definitive release date. We do know that GRID Legends is expected at some point in 2022.

    Battlefield 2042 Portal

Battlefield 2042 is one of the most anticipated games of the year, especially for first-person shooter fans. The game already looks fantastic and beautifully chaotic in every trailer, but EA Play Live 2021 gave us the first look at Portal, a new game mode arriving with the game. Battlefield 2042 Portal combines elements of all previous Battlefield games with the return of six classic maps, game modes, guns, vehicles, and the ability to mix and match whatever you want. While not a level editor, Battlefield 2042 Portal massively increases the ways to play in Battlefield.

    Dead Space

The final big announcement from EA Play Live 2021 was the reveal of Dead Space. No, not a new entry in the franchise, but a full remake of the original Dead Space. All we got was a small teaser showing off gruesome visuals and atmospheres, and the knowledge that Dead Space is heading to Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC only. Unfortunately, we don’t know much else about the project at the moment.
