Google Duo gets 8 person video calls, with a few catches

Google Duo has finally added the option for users to hop into massive group video calls, which Google has mentioned before. The feature’s here now, though, so you can seven of your buddies can have simultaneous video chats.

Do you really want that many people on a video call at once? I don’t know. I don’t, maybe you do.

Duo still lags behind other competitors like FaceTime, which allows for 32 simultaneous participants, and Skype, which can do a whopping 50, but 8 people seems pretty good for most users.

This new feature will be available on iOS and Android, but specifically not the web client, which oddly makes Hangouts your best option for doing group video calls through a Google service.
