June 11th could be when Google launches the Pixel 5a

2020 made a mockery of Google’s plans of launching the Pixel 4a during its developer conference in May that was canceled like so many other events because of the ongoing pandemic. 2021 could be a different story if a leak saying that Google is prepping the Pixel 5a for launch on June 11th is accurate.

According to Jon Prosser, Google will also release the next generation of Pixel Buds around mid-April. Coming back to the Pixel 5a, it isn’t expected to offer major improvements over its predecessor, with a pretty similar design if a previous leak is accurate. It’s reported to feature a 6.2-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution with dual rear cameras consisting of the same old 12MP sensor seen on so many Pixel handsets before it.

Little is known about the new Pixel Buds at this point other than their proposed release date, so that’s something we’ll keep an eye on for the next few weeks. What are you hoping to see with the upcoming Pixel 5a?
