Leaked renders show that Realme is entering the Android tablet market

When you think of budget tablets it’s likely that Amazon’s Fire tablets come to mind, with Samsung’s Galaxy Tab ranges covering the mid-range and premium segments now that Huawei’s offerings no longer feature the Google Play Store. The Android tablet market has stagnated over the years but the past month has seen rumors that OnePlus is preparing its first tablet device, and it seems that its stablemate, Realme, is also set to enter the fray.

Serial leaker @OnLeaks (via 91Mobiles)Leaked renders of the ‘Realme Pad’ as it’s being called reveal a tablet with a typically slim design and a circular camera bump on the two-tone rear panel. Surprisingly, the selfie camera is placed for landscape usage although that makes sense seeing as the tablet is thought to have a 10.4-inch display. Otherwise, the bezels are slim enough without being ultra-slim, and the tablet is thought to be ~8.4mm thick when the camera bump is taken into account and an impressively thin 6.8mm without.

There’s some debate as to whether the cutout on the bottom left corner of the Realme Pad is for a 3.5mm audio jack or is actually a slot to store a stylus, either of which would be a useful addition. There also seems to be a slot for a SIM card or memory card along the right-hand edge under the volume rocker. There are no details on which processor or how much RAM and storage the tablet will feature, but I’m sure we’ll find out in forthcoming leaks.
