Looks like we’ve got a Snapdragon Wear 4100-powered Wear OS Moto Watch on the way

Ever since Qualcomm announced the new Snapdragon Wear 4100 platform in July 2020, Mobvoi has been the only Wear OS brand to actually make a smartwatch (TicWatch Pro 3) with the powerful chipset under the hood. The reason why this is the case isn’t known but thanks to a new roadmap laid out by CE Brands last week we know that eBuyNow is scheduled to produce 3 Moto-branded smartwatches during 2021, one of which would appear to sport the SD4100 chipset.

Thanks to an eagle-eyed Reddit user who enhanced an image showing an upcoming Moto watch we can see the “Snapdragon Wear 4100” branding printed on the rear of the watch. You’ll also notice the presence of NFC, 4ATM, GPS, and what looks to be wireless charging as well.

The leaked roadmap reveals that there will be three new Moto smartwatches, the Moto G Smartwatch that is scheduled for June, and the Moto Watch and Moto One that are earmarked for release during July.

As mentioned, the new watches are being produced by eBuyNow, the same company that launched the Moto 360 (3rd-gen) Wear OS smartwatch back in December 2019 that looked good but had the same flaw as every other Wear OS smartwatch at that time, namely being powered by the SD3100 chipset.
