Fusebit, a new Seattle startup aiming to help developers with software integration capabilities, has raised a $3.3 million seed round.

Founded in 2019 by veterans of Microsoft, Apple, and Auth0, the startup offers flexible APIs to software-as-a-service vendors that make it easier to add integrations as part of their apps.

“We see an accelerating trend of unbundling in SaaS application development in which parts of the solution are delivered by partners instead of being built in-house,” said Fusebit CEO Tomasz Janczuk. “Fusebit wants to lead that trend when it comes to integrations, just like Stripe did for payments, and Twilio for messaging.”

Fusebit hosts the integrations at scale and monitors for infrastructure issues such as throttling. It also has private cloud hosting options.

Customers include companies such as workflow automation startup Factory Four, compliance platform Hyperproof, and rental property software provider Leasera.

Four Rivers Group, a Bay Area firm that also backed Seattle unicorn startup Outreach, led the seed round. Other investors include Seattle-based Founders’ Co-op — a backer of Outreach and Auth0 — as well as Auth0 CEO Eugenio Pace and former Auth0 CEO Jonathan Gelsey. Auth0, also based in the Seattle region, sells identity authentication software and was valued at $1.9 billion after raising $120 million in July.

Pace previously said that nearly 90% of Auth0’s customer base uses some of its extensibility features.

Janczuk spent 12 years at Microsoft and was most recently a VP at Auth0. Fusebit co-founder Yavor Georgiev also spent time at Microsoft before stints at Hulu and Auth0. Benn Bollay, the company’s third co-founder, was CTO at Union Bay Networks, a Seattle cloud startup acquired by Apple in 2014.

The founders are based in Seattle but the 3-person company plans on being remote, hiring new employees from anywhere.
