Microsoft has today announced that Microsoft Teams will allow up to 20,000 attendees into a single view-only broadcast until the end of 2021, where it will return to the 10,000-attendee limit. 20,000-attendee broadcasts were introduced during pandemic and have been great for large organizations looking to keep their employees up to date as they work from home.
In addition to supporting 20,000 attendees in a broadcast, Microsoft is reminding us that Teams now supports interactive customer webinars for up to 1,000 attendees. These webinars include support for custom registration, rich presentation options, host controls, and post-event reporting.
In addition to the new webinar and broadcast features, Microsoft is also enabling Teams to deliver webinars as port of Dynamics 365 Marketing campaigns, which is now generally available. Later in the year, this will expand to supporting the ability to export webinar contacts directly from Teams into Dynamics 365 Marketing to enable engagement with audience before and after events.
