To say that Wear OS is currently fighting for its life would be sheer hyperbole, after all, when it comes to modern hardware there’s a choice of Mobvoi’s TicWatch Pro 3 or Mobvoi’s TicWatch Pro 3 LTE. And that’s it. Google recently gave Wear OS fans a hint of hope thanks to some leaked renders but it seems that the hope may only be realized in October if the current Pixel Watch launch date prediction is accurate.

While recent rumors point to Samsung switching over from Tizen OS to Wear OS for its Galaxy Smartwatch series, it’s really up to Google itself to save its own smartwatch OS platform.

According to Jon Prosser, the same guy who said that the Pixel 5a was dead last week, Google’s Pixel Watch is codenamed “Rohan” and will sport a wraparound display with a centrally located crown. From the render, it’s possible to see the use of colored bands in up to 20 different options according to Prosser, who says the renders are based on marketing material that he has seen.

The Pixel Watch is thought to launch alongside the Pixel 6 which should be sometime during October if previous announcements are anything to go by.
