Blair Witch is already shaping up to be one of the creepier games to come out of 2019, if its trailers are anything to go by. Now, we’ve got an even more terrifying look at what’s to come with a new trailer showing off the woods that you’ll explore throughout the game.
The trailer briefly gives us a glimpse at several locations around the woods, transitioning from dusk to night. The whole vibe is one of absolute dread, which is helped along by the ominous score throughout the trailer’s runtime.
Blair Witch is a spinoff of the cult classic found footage movie from 1999. We don’t have a firm grasp on the story just yet, but it’s geared to be a psychological horror game that “studies your reactions to fear and stress,” according to its description.
On Xbox One X, the game will run at 4K resolution and packs HDR lighting. In other words, if you’re playing on Microsoft’s latest console, the experience should be crisp with impressive lighting.
Blair Witch is expected to launch on Xbox One and PC on August 30 for $30. It’s also coming to Xbox Game Pass, so subscribers will be able to dive in right away.
