MWC Shanghai 2021 is in full-swing with news that Realme has announced a new “Dual platform Dual Flagship” strategy for its upcoming GT that launches in China on March 4th. This means that the Realme GT 5G will sport either the Snapdragon 888 or MediaTek’s new Dimensity 1200 chipset under the hood, two flagship chipsets going head-to-head with one focusing on performance while the other concentrates on the photography department.

Besides the new powertrains, the Realme GT also unveiled the new Stainless Steel VC Cooling System that improves the phone’s heat dissipation performance to truly let the Snapdragon 888 processor off its leash.

Now for the exciting part, the Realme GT series are the first handsets to sport a Dual-Tone Vegan Leather design that combines two different materials to enhance the style of the device. Honestly, I’m all in on this, the yellow and black finish (Racing Yellow) shown in the image above reminds me of an American muscle car (Corvette, Mustang, Camaro) and I can’t wait to see which other designs are announced. Besides looking good, the 2nd-generation vegan leather adds texture and grip, which is always appreciated.

What do you think of the Realme GT series so far? We don’t have too much longer to wait until it’s launch in China on March 4th, whereupon it should make its way to western markets shortly after.
