Riders Republic has been delayed, releasing sometime later this year

Riders Republic is an interesting entry in Ubisoft’s expanding game lineup, giving up the action-packed open worlds of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion and Far Cry 6 for a massive online multiplayer sandbox focused around extreme sports. However, Riders Republic isn’t immune to Ubisoft’s recent policy of delaying games more frequently to ensure a base level of quality, and the team just announced on Twitter that the original release date from February of this year has been pushed forward indefinitely.

According to the announcement, Riders Republic is now set to release “later this year,” which could mean anytime from the original release date to the end of 2021. It’s probably a good thing that Ubisoft isn’t committing to a set date, in case another delay is necessary, but it also means players are definitely going to have to wait a while longer before they’re able to jump into Riders Republic.

Hopefully Riders Republic is a stable and complete game at launch after this delay. Riders Republic won’t have the same mainstream appeal as Ubisoft’s legacy franchises, so it’ll have to knock it out of the park right from the start to capture people’s interests.
