Samsung’s Galaxy Book Go is available to order starting today. The light laptop runs on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 2, which brings extended battery life that’s come to be expected from Windows 10 on ARM laptops. The starting price of the Galaxy Book Go is probably the most alluring aspect of the laptop. At just $350, it could make its way onto our list of the best cheap laptops.
To hit such a low price, Samsung had to reduce some features. Storage is capped at 128GB and is eUFS instead of faster PCIe. RAM is also capped at 8GB, but it is LPDDR4x, which should be quick enough for most people.
The $350 model of the Galaxy Book Go is also the Wi-Fi-only model. The laptop supports Wi-Fi 5 rather than Wi-Fi 6, but again, it should be fast enough for most people.
While Samsung had to reduce some features to reach such a low entry price, the Galaxy Book Go has Dolby Atmos speakers and a wide range of ports, including two USB-C ports and a microSD slot.
Perhaps most importantly for people looking at a Windows 10 on ARM laptop, the Galaxy Book Go should get close to 18 hours of battery life, according to Samsung.
The Galaxy Book Go also benefits from Microsoft and Samsung’s growing partnership. It supports Link to Windows, Second Screen (use a Samsung tablet as a wireless display), Galaxy Book Smart Switch, Quick Share, SmartThings Dashboard, SmartThings Find, and Easy Bluetooth Connection for connecting the laptop to Galaxy Buds.
Samsung hasn’t announced pricing details for the upcoming 5G version of the Galaxy Book Go. If you need 5G connectivity on your laptop, you’ll have to wait until Samsung unveils more details later this summer.
