With the Galaxy Z Fold 2 receiving rave reviews, the one glaring flaw with the foldable phone is its eye-watering price which makes it far too expensive for most folk, especially in 2020. Having been rumored to have postponed plans to launch a ‘Lite‘ edition back in July, a new report says that Samsung has continued developing the Galaxy Z Fold Lite, which may be announced in early 2021.
Samsung’s first ‘affordable’ foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold Lite, is said to feature a 7-inch internal display and a 4-inch external panel using Ultra-Thin-Glass (UTG).
And, according to TheElec, Samsung is also prepping the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 2, for launch later in 2021, which isn’t really a surprise. What is a surprise is that it’s said that the Z Fold 3 could sport the same 7-inch internal and 4-inch external display sizes as the Lite model, making it smaller than the Galaxy Z Fold 2. But, it is rumored to feature an under-display camera as well as S Pen support.
The Galaxy Z Flip 2, on the other hand, is said to sport a 6.7-inch internal panel with a centrally located punch-hole camera, and a larger 3-inch cover display which should prove more useful than the tiny screen found on the previous models.
There’s no info on when Samsung will launch the affordable folding phone, but who knows, maybe we’ll see the Galaxy Z Fold Lite launched alongside the Galaxy S21 during the rumored January Unpacked event.
