    Android-12

Google I/O is in full flow with Android 12 having moved from Developer Preview status for Pixel handsets to being given the beta moniker. With improved privacy controls, a revamped design called Material You that gives users more ways to customize their handsets than ever before, Android 12 Beta 1 is now available to download to eligible Pixel handsets.

The list of eligible handsets for the Android 12 Beta 1 consists of the following:

    • Pixel 3/3 XL
    • Pixel 3a
    • Pixel 4/4 XL
    • Pixel 4a
    • Pixel 4a 5G
    • Pixel 5

The easiest way to get the first Android 11 beta build on your eligible Pixel smartphone is to navigate to google.com/android/beta and enroll your eligible handset, after which an OTA will find its way to your device.

But. If you aren’t as patient as some of us, you can head download the relevant Factory Image or OTA file from the links below to flash manually and perhaps make use of the Android Flash Tool that will show you step-by-step how to install the beta via the Chrome browser on your PC. To do so, all you need to do is head over to Flash.android.com/devices on the Chrome browser and follow the instructions.

If you do choose to download and manually install the Android 12 Beta, remember to backup your data beforehand, and follow the directions to the letter. Once you are enrolled in the Android 12 beta program your device should receive further updates via OTA.
