While the US waits for the Nord N200 5G launch, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G has just been announced for the European and Indian markets with prices starting from £299 (~$420) for the 8/128GB base model. The slimmest OnePlus handset since the OP6T, the Nord CE 5G boasts the core features of the original Nord, plus a couple of extras according to the blurb.

Visually, the Nord CE 5G takes some inspiration from the original OnePlus Nord with the vertical camera strip on the top left corner of the rear panel. The phone comes in Blue Void, Charcoal Ink, and Silver Ray colorways that are resistant to fingerprints.

Running on Android 11 with OxygenOS 11 out of the box, OnePlus is promising two years’ worth of software updates and three years of security updates. The OnePlus Nord CE 5G boasts a pocketable 6.43-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, and perhaps more importantly, a 90Hz refresh rate. The fingerprint sensor is beneath the display, and face unlock is present as well.

Powering the Nord CE 5G is the mid-range Snapdragon 750G chipset that boasts an integration 5G modem, which is accompanied by 8/12GB of RAM and 128/256GB of storage. In case you were wondering, MicroSD cards are not supported. There’s a good-sized 4,500mAh battery that is paired up with Warp Charge 30T charging which will charge the battery from 0-70% in just 30 minutes.

“The OnePlus Nord CE 5G is the next step in our commitment to sharing great technology with the world,” said Pete Lau, Founder and CEO of OnePlus. “The Never Settle spirit drives us to provide a better experience relative to what’s available in any price segment. Nord CE is the newest addition to the OnePlus Nord product line that delivers a great everyday experience while maintaining the OnePlus quality that users have come to love.”

The rear camera setup consists of a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens, while the 16MP selfie camera is housing in the punch-hole cutout on the top-left corner of the display. You check out the full specifications here.
