What has gone wrong with the Knicks?

The Nets have had the Knicks’ number. Brooklyn finished off a season sweep of Tom Thibodeau’s squad Monday in a tight finish. The Knicks have come down to earth the past week as they hold on to playoff hopes. This team likely will finish in the top 10 in the East, but with how they are playing of late, it might have to come in the play-in tournament. A best-of-seven first-round playoff series is not looking as promising for the Knicks as it did a few weeks ago.

With a tough schedule ahead, this is a big stretch coming up for the Knicks this week. To talk about the playoff push, we bring you a new episode of the “Big Apple Buckets” podcast with Sal Licata and Jerome “The Junk Yard Dog” Williams.

Big Apple Buckets Podcast Opening Segment with Sal, JYD & Jake:

    • KNICKS’ LOSS TO NETS: Knicks get swept by the Nets on the season. Knicks could not stop Kyrie Irving. The team hates losing to the Nets.
    • PLAYOFF PUSH: Going to be tough for the Knicks to finish in the top six. Their schedule down the stretch is brutal. Fifteen of their final 21 games are against teams .500 or better. Can the current Knicks roster make it work as is?

Sal’s Story: Sal tells a story of when he went to the game when John Starks made his return to MSG as a member of the Warriors. His friend shoots free throws at halftime. I then tell my story of shooting 3s on the court at the Garden in a video that went viral for my abysmal shooting.

Inside The Dog House: JYD tells the story of his push for the playoffs with the Raptors, where the team had to win 15 of their last 17 games in order to make the playoffs. I then rip JYD for his 1-for-26 3-point shooting for his career.
